It’s YELLOW day in A Week Of Bookish Colour! Oh hurrah! When I looked up the feels that yellow brings, I found out that optimism, confidence, self-esteem, extraversion, emotional strength, friendliness and creativity were tip-top of the list.
My old house in Fitzroy was a former gallery and one of the rooms had been completely sealed up to create the sort of artificially-lit box that art lovers apparently adore.
We called it ‘the tomb’.
When we moved in, we unsealed the windows and door, cut a hole in one of the dividing walls to open it up a bit – and painted the room bright yellow. It was much better – although still VERY COLD due to no heating, (poorly) tiled floor and shadow of towering building next door. Still the yellow provided an instant lift. So that was good.
But to the books. Here are today’s yellow ones. And thanks for all the delightful messages about A Week Of Bookish Colour. You guys are NICE!
May your day be filled with the kind of optimism, confidence, self-esteem, extraversion, emotional strength, friendliness, creativity that yellow apparently heralds! Although not too much of it, because that sounds pur-eeee-tttty exhausting.
Also, may your day feature a cake or pastry. That’s my wish for you.
