I did not think I liked macarons. I thought I was into macaroons. But then I had a Raspberry Macaron from Chimmy’s on my birthday and my whole world shifted. Thanks MUM!
Yes, Macarons can be nothing-y, chalky, wispy and dry. But they can also be crunchy, moist, squeaky and delicious.
This lovely post shows you how to make your own. I have never tried, because my oven is hot-or-not. Have you ever made them? Are you a fan? Do you like them?
I’ll see you a bit later today! Smooches!
xx Pip
I absolutely love macarons and I too thought it was macaroons (apparently that's a dodgy version of them?)
I also have tried to make them but got confused halfway through the batter – as I followed the recipe to a tee but they weren't silky. Basically, they didn't turn out well at all (minus two or three) and I've been mustering the courage to do it again since!

I love macarons. We had Chimmy's macarons at our wedding. I've only ever made them from the Donna Hay packet mix. Mine looked nothing like hers but they sure were yum.
Ooooh. They look magnificent. I'll give those a whirl in the next week or so. I've always been slightly scared by them as you have terrifiyingly posh and French establishment such as Laduree that present them like food of the gods. "Step away, mere mortals. DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME, zut alor".
I love macarons but am too scared to try making them myself!
Love the photo with the colourful vera scarf.
I love to make them. They are really great because you can try new favours like beetroot, bubblegum and rose AND experiment with them.
I've made macarons a few times with my mum, the best part is deciding what color they are going to be! Though they are delicious, more then one makes me feel I'll :s
