52 Hellos: Week 29

July 27, 2015

It’s probably no news to you that I have been under the weather. It’s put me a little bit out of kilter… well… a LOT out of kilter, truth be told. I got totally out of sync with my usual routine.

I’m glad to say that things are finally righting themselves and I’m getting back to ‘normal’. Phew.

Sorry for the minor intermission in the more regular features – but really, a lady can only do what she can do, right?! I think it’s okay to go off the rails sometimes! (Also – shingles – WHO NEEDS ‘EM?! Argh. So debilitating!)

Anyway, I’m delighted that I have the energy at last to catch up with one of my favourite things – 52 Hellos. Yay!

If you are new here, 52 Hellos is a letter writing and receiving project. Each week I write a letter to someone in my life and I share one here that someone nice has sent me. So let’s catch up and look at the goodness that’s turned up in my postbox recently:

greetings from Tasmania
Today’s instalment of 52 Hellos is:
This amazing handmade super-dooper-large-and-beautiful postcard is from Bianca. I love it so much because it’s about a lot of my favourite things and it hat-tips one of my favourite people (Clare!) and it’s come from a favourite place (Tasmania) from a blog I really like and have read for a long time!
I like it that someone took the time to make something so special FOR ME! I like it that ‘nice moments’ rate a mention. I like it that ‘cheery shows’ are part of the dialogue too. (I’m going to write something about ‘cheery shows’ later too!)
Bianca also talks about changing her morning habits, which is something I wholeheartedly recommend. (Have you read this book about habit changing? It’s by a favourite author of mine and it’s meant to be great!)
Thank you Bianca for helping me to catch up with 52 Hellos in such fine form. Thanks for sending me this beautiful thing. It will take pride of place in my new house!!!
Have you written a letter to someone, lately?

It’s such a funny world. I just found Bianca last night after a bit of a Pinterest sesh. One of her beautiful mail art envelopes caught my eye so I got lost in her beautiful blog for the evening. And now this morning here she is again on your blog. Aaah.. the universe! I am so happy to have found her. Her work is amazing. And that postcard is so special. I am so happy to hear that you are feeling better. Much love. x

    Hi Pip,
Always a joy. Could you please include a link to the blog / book about “habit changing” – i think I’m in need of some inspiration!

Shingles sounds horrible. Thanks for pointing us in the direction of talented Bianca from Tassy! Just discovered her lovely blog. In answer to your question, yes, I have written three letters recently. One to my friend Erin who is a teacher in Melbourne and had a particularly hideous class of Year 9s last term. One to my friend Madeline who lives in Geneva and is getting married at Heide Gallery later this year (inside a sculpture…fun!). And one to my friend Sara who lives in Canada and has recently had a great sadness in her life. I love writing letters x
