It’s Friday! Yay!

I’ve tucked my work away for a while to read some cute letters that arrived for #52hellos this week and watch my favourite movie.

This week’s hello is from my cute friend Betsy. Naw. I met Betsy in Bali on the Big Hearted Business Creative Retreat, but she’s also in the choir with my aunty so we were on the cusp of crossing paths already, somehow, somewhere. She’s a golden sort of person.

Bets and her Mum and her daughter all came to Ubud in Bali last year. Bets came to our retreat and her Mum and daughter hung out together, shopping and snacking and swimming. I thought it was pretty nice that three generations all flew across the sea to spend time together doing girly/creative stuff. Don’t you think so? Not enough of that kind of stuff, in my opinion.

(Isn’t it amazing when you fly over the NW coast and away from Australia during the day? It’s super beautiful looking down and seeing the edge, right?)

Thanks heaps for your cute hello, Betsy!!

I’m watching Steel Magnolias this afternoon. I’ve seen in one zillion times and it’s still so great. How can you beat a cast like that and an era like that and a script like that? I think you really can’t. I like to watch it over Easter too, because I especially love the dyed egg/Easter hunt scenes.

I’m also keeping up with my crochet (and working on my next book! Exciting!)

I hope you are having a lovely Friday. Send me a hello sometime? Details (and more hellos) are below!

x Pip

I haven’t watched Steel Magnolias for about 20 years but I never forget Olympia Dukakis – “Looks like two pigs fighting under a blanket”. So ace! My poor hubby is gonna have to sit through a screening now x

In light of the news that countries like Finland are no longer making cursive handwriting lessons compulsory from 2016, your 52 Hellos project becomes so much more important! It is suggested that this movement in Finland is in recognition that this generation will never write a letter, birthday card or love letter. Instead, they’ll text, tap and tweet. OH. PLEASE. NO. Cursive handwriting, where lovely letters all join hands to make gorgeous words, is the most beautiful way to communicate with friends and loved ones whether near or far. We must SAVE. CURSIVE. HANDWRITING. Let’s keep this dying art alive peeps! Thanks Pip for your amazing contribution to our world, in the form of pure loveliness, wiseness and crafty goodness.
