I've been watching the Patti Smith documentary: Dream Of Life. Argh. It's so good. The scenes with her parents and with her children are exquisite. They made me cry a bit, because they are so human and tender. I don't know why they are cry-worthy... perhaps because she's lost so many people who are dear to her, and there's a fragility to her existing, special relationships? I don't know. You'll have to watch it and tell me what you think. Patti's really an amazing woman. I really love her. She makes me want to be a better person, which is just what you're after in a hero, really...
I've been reading I Capture The Castle. It took me a while to get into this book, but GOSH I am LOVING it. Cassandra, the main character, is so wonderful. You need to read it! Join us here, if you want. (Click the arrow in the middle of this YouTube box to listen!)
Today I'm writing my book, cooking a couple of things for a picnic and resting on the couch a bit too.
My book is coming along GREAT. I am so used to writing technical, instructional books, and this book is not that. It's lots of my own writing and crafty suggestions and recipes too. It's so much fun to write. It's making me really happy. I am really loving the process more than I ever have before.
What are you doing this weekend?
