I wonder when January starts to feel 'normal' and that usual rhythm returns? Kirsty says it's when school goes back and if that's the case we're home-free for a while.

I've been trying to do lots of walks and hanging out in our exercise group on Facebook.  I've been writing bits and pieces of my book, but I've been a bit distracted too. I think it's that January fever. Or the heat. Or the excitement that it's school holidays. I'm full of good ideas about things I want to do, and am trying to cram a bit of each into these lovely, long days.

I watched Catfish. I'm reading Patti Smith. I'm listening to this old Tame Impala album. And The Moth and Freakonomics and Hidden Kitchens podcasts.  I've done some op-shopping (I bought napkins, place-mats, a crocheted table runner and another linen & lace table runner too.)

I figure we're all still easing back into real life... so here's a mini reading list for your day!  In case the internet is a bit quiet for you!

Rookie's posted this great piece about Harlem in the 20s and 30s.
Design Sponge wrote a great piece about Lucy and The Design Files Open House.
The amazing Rilla Alexander talks about the evolution of an idea... using her illustrations and her really ace book. (And here's her website too!)
It's The Year of Creativity on Dismount Creative.
Animals. In the supermarket.
Eerie photos of Chernobyl's abandoned hospital. *shivers*

Have a great day, peeps. You are great. Thanks for reading.

x Pip
