Oh MY! It's time! It's time for Softies For Mirabel!  It's our SIXTH year, guys. Can you even believe it? I totally can NOT!

The Mirabel Foundation does important work, supporting kids who are affected by parental substance abuse.  They also support family members who might be caring for those kids.

Did you know that lots of kids move from the care of their parents to grandparents or aunties and uncles?  Mirabel provides support to these children and their extended family, making sure that they all know how special they are, and that they are not alone.

Each year we run Softies For Mirabel with The Mirabel Foundation. We encourage you to make a soft toy (a softie!) for a Mirabel child. We think that it's really important to show these kids that they are in our thoughts and that we care about them.  A handmade buddy can be a loyal companion to a child who may have the weight of the world on their shoulders at times.

Would you like to help? Would you like to make a toy? Or a few? Or pass these details on to someone else who might like to?  DO THAT!

The toys will be displayed in the window of Meet Me at Mike's (at 63 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy in Melbourne) from the 1st of December until the 20th of December.  We'll also post information about Mirabel and our toy drive so that passersby can learn more about this great organisation.  After December 20th, the toys will be passed on to The Mirabel Foundation to distribute to their kids. (Please note we are not looking for NEW toys or SECOND HAND toys, this is strictly a Made-With-Love handmade toy appeal.)

If you'd like to upload photos of your toy (softie!) for everyone to see once you've made it, you can do that here!

If you are tweeting or Instagramming photos or details about Softies for Mirabel use the #softiesformirabel hashtag, if you remember! Thanks!

We'll be sharing photos of the toy-filled window every couple of days in December, right here on this blog.

Will you help? Will you join in? Sign up below in the Link Tool or in the comments box! Please spread the word, too.

xx Pip
