12 Hypnotic Vintage Videos Of Things Being Made

One of my friends shared the wallpaper making video below on Facebook yesterday and it reminded me that there are a BUNCH of great vintage craftspeople type clips on YouTube. What better idea than to round them all up into one blog post, I thought. So that is what I am doing.

Be careful because these have the amazing power to hypnotise people. Truly.

Also be careful of the hilarious, jovial commentary. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Vote your your favourite craft clip in the comments below! (If you are reading this on email or RSS feed you might need to click through to see the clips!)

1. Making wallpaper!
‘Colour abounds here!’

2. Making Wedgwood Pottery…
‘Yes, pride and perfection’

3. Make Festival Pottery figurines!
‘Joyce needs oceans of confidence’

4. Making toy soldiers, even.
‘The majority are destined for many a hectic battle on hearth rugs the world over.’

5. Making globes! Okay!
‘While the rest of mankind does itsย best to blow it up, he’s always building a new world.’

6. Kilt making? Yes.
‘There must have been an almighty gathering of the pleats before the first clan gathered on the highlands!’

7. Umbrella making, perhaps?
‘You can be sure the flowers won’t be long without water.’

8. Dolls? Yep.
‘Am I a good girl, mummy?’

9. Blimps.ย Woah.
‘The blimp has been well and truly made’

10. Artificial flowers from Australia
‘Isn’t this an attractive ornament?!’

11. Thermos making…

I told you. Mesmerising and jolly, right?!
